New bewilderedkid comic! New bunny funnies! New ladybug mini-comic!

I need to get some sleep, but first, your comics!

I created this mini-comic this weekend while "co-teaching" the Macy's Go Read Zine (and mini-comic) making class at the Guthrie. I edited it a bit to make it read better on the web.

The inaugural edition of Super Fantastica Comix is available at The Source and Hot Comics in the Twin Cities. It will be in more comic shops soon. I am now taking submissions for the second volume, more info can be found at The Super Fantastica Comix site.

The Pornbot vs. The Sexy Spammer fight comes to a head. With the amount of action, or inaction depending on your point-of-view, I wanted to put into this story, one page just wasn't going to cut it. Instead, this week you are treated to a four page fight between these combatants!

Directly below that, please enjoy some Bunny Funnies!

New bewilderedkid comic, New bunny funnies, Super Fantastica Comix! Now Available!

FINALLY! Super Fantastica Comix is finished! Super Fantastica Comix is a quarterly, mini-comic anthology that I am producing. I am in the middle of collating the remainder of the books, but I should expect them to be available at many local Twin Cities shops this week. I am also looking to get these into other, comiX friendly shops, if anyone has any ideas or contacts, let me know! Here is an early version of the cover on white (Note: I am aware of the typo and had it fixed!):

The current cover is printed on a cream colored card stock paper. This first issue is thirty-six pages and includes stories from eight creators! Thanks to all of those who contributed! I will be taking submissions for the second anthology soon, which will be released in April. More info on the contributors and how to contribute to future issues will be posted at superfantasticacomix.com later this week.

I don't know how many times I've mentioned that I love drawing trees. I really don't know what it is, but I think I might have a clue. Growing up I would watch "The Joy of Painting" on public television. Bob Ross, host of the show and a somebody I admire due to his awesome head of hair, would always paint his "happy little trees" on his canvas. I would watch this guy paint something that I thought looked great, then screw it up, and create something even better. Although I admired this man growing up and am aware of his untimely death a few years ago after battling lymphoma, I was moved to manipulate an image I found online and co-opt it for my own amusement.

And I feel like a true asshole for doing so.

Okay, on with the comics!

New bewilderedkid comic! Debut of bunny funnies!

What up?

Apparently the infamous Evil Eye: The Comic had sold out at Big Brain Comics in Minneapolis. However, I was informed this week that the Hot Comics in Richfield now has Evil Eye in stock! This Evil Eye thing is really taking off! Now if only the Brontosaurus Men will be released. For those who are not "in the know" on this whole Evil Eye thing...it's kind of complicated and I can inform you later when I'm not as tired.

Happy Valentine's Day to those who celebrate! I was going to reserve this portion of this week's post to point you to the Big Time Attic Blog, where they were supposed to have a new Big Time Attic: The Comic posted that deals with Valentine's Day. However, as I type this it has yet to be posted. At any rate, be on the lookout for it, it was written by my friend Matthew Kriske, who is generally too busy going to school and making shoes to ever update his blog.

Okay. Now onto my stuff. I apologize if last week's comic sucked. My heart really wasn't in it and I really didn't know how to transition between the stories. Even the jokes I thought were mediocre when I created it, turned out to suck when I looked at it the next day. Then again, I am by no means a professional, therefore I can chalk it up to the learning process.

Speaking of learning. Maybe you were wondering why I rarely post any comics with the Bunny in it. Well, I HATE drawing that character. Mostly because it never turns out the way I want it to. In order to gain more practice at drawing that character and to satisfy the Bunny's fans, I have created "bunny funnies." I will try to post it every Thursday, but much like the Bunny, it's schedule will be rather lackadaisical.

Anyhow, onto the comics!

New bewilderedkid comic. All precincts reporting. Heavee Underground.

Good evening y'all.

Did I just say, y'all? Yer darn tootin' I did. YEEEEHAW!

Sorry, I have no idea why I wrote that. Okay, so my good friend Theo Streibel sent me a cover page for the Pornbot vs. Spambot storyline. He gave me the artistic liberty to put the little borders around the sides. The quotes he included are from the following BBC article: Obama triumphs in South Carolina. Theo is a photographer by trade. You can view his site, which is in progress, here: theostreibel.com. Thanks Theo!

I encourage anyone and everyone to create something depicting your favorite bewilderedkid characters! Send a file to me and I'll post 'em here! Can't figure out how to contact me? Look to the right of this page for my e-mail addy.

Before we start with this week's comic. I need to direct your attention, and your hard earned dollars, to my friend Amado Rodriguez' new graphic novel Heavee Underground. When Amado isn't getting his new graphic novel reviewed at Ain't It Cool News, getting Jim Mahfood to do a kick-ass cover for that same graphic novel, or co-publishing the Muscles and Fights anthologies along with Bud Burgy, he posts interviews of the best underground and indie comic talent in the upper midwest at the Cream City Comics blog. So, if you want to drop some change on some underground comix, then click here. You can even purchase the PDF file for $2!

Okay, on with this week's comic.
